What does a piece cost you?

Three steps: your printer, your filament and the numbers from your slicer. The result updates as you type; it is an approximate production cost, not a suggested selling price.

1 Country and printer

Source

Printer figures are starting estimates. If you have a power meter, your reading is more accurate.

2 Filament

Printing in several colours? Add each colour with its price; you can set the weight of each in the next step.

3 Numbers from your slicer

5% is a default you can change. Use 0 if the slicer weight already includes all waste.

Extra costs optional
Reprint reserve

Covers failed prints. Best applied to printing only, since setup and add-ons are not usually repeated.

Running costs and labour

Printer wear, roughly: its price ÷ expected lifetime hours, plus maintenance and nozzles.
